Lubbock's finest dachshunds will compete for the title of top dog in a dash to the finish line this Saturday. The race is not a typical dog show. The dash is to find the fastest dachshund in the Southwest.
The 16th annual Wienerschnitzel Wiener Nationals Lubbock will be held on the Texas Tech University Recreation Field beginning at 9:30 a.m. Saturday. The final race will be during the halftime show of the Texas Tech men's basketball game vs. UT.
The winners will be given a cash prize and a trip to the Holiday Bowl for the 2012 Wiener National Finals in San Diego.
Entry forms are available at all Lubbock Wienerschnitzel locations.
